Simple Post Thumbnails – Add Thumbnails Easily

There are a few PHP based thumbnail generators available on the internet and they work great on your PHP based site. However, they aren’t build for WordPress and that makes it a little harder to implant the thumbnail creator.

Fortunately, Darren Hoyt has released the TimThumb script to make this thing a little easier. He has successfully used this script in the Mimbo 3.0 WordPress theme and many other people love it too. However, myself couldn’t get it to work. And besides, you still have to do some theme modification to get a proper result.

More people were struggling with that problem, so it’s great to hear that Press75 just released a WordPress plugin called Simple Post Thumbnails to make that whole process a lot easier. You can now add thumbnails to your post by from inside your “Add Post” page in WP-admin!

Check out the release page here and get it to work yourself!

  1. Hi,

I’m using one-theme and I asked the developers to look and see if they could do something that would take a image and create a thumbnail image, a featured image and a news image. They use those 3 types in their theme.

It is nice to see that plug-in developers are looking into this problem as so many of us struggle.
